Care of leather purses

Purses are a very hot topic these days. The majority of high end purses these days are leather purses. The prices of the things can be as high as $8,000 to $10,000.00. Rather unbelievable. But many of them are in the $300.00 to $500.00 range. Understanding what you need to do to keep them looking their best is important.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

One of the first things that I would recommend is to apply a good stain guard. We have had numerous calls from frantic women saying that they just bought their new purse and spilled coffee on it and now it is stained. I would say a majority of the leather used on purses is aniline, which is very delicate and prone to staining

Color rubbing off?

A common problem with the more delicate leathers. Applying a good seal coat will take care of the problem but that is best left to the professional.
